"He had an immediate rapport with both students and teachers. Mr. Espinosa grabbed every childs attention and kept them mesmerized with his stories, voices, and animated demeanor."

"Comments such as 'he kept them focused and having fun at the same time' and 'his control of such a large group of kinders was fabulous' have been pouring into my office..."

We had the pleasure of having Mr. Chris Espinosa visit our Kindergarten through 4th grade students on March 11, 2004. From the moment Mr. Espinosa arrived, I knew it was going to be a super day!

I originally saw Mr. Espinosa at another Northside ISD school after he had contacted me about coming to our school. I have to admit that I was a little hesitant, but after previewing his primary show, I knew he would be great at Thornton!

He was prompt, well prepared, and extremely organized. Mr. Espinosa did 7 presentations (4 for K-2 grade students, and 3 for 3-4 grade students). Once I had the students seated, I felt like I didn’t need to be in the library because he had an immediate rapport with both students and teachers. Mr. Espinosa grabbed every child’s attention and kept them mesmerized with his stories, voices, and animated demeanor. His ability to get the students so excited and then be able to calm them down quickly was amazing! He allowed many opportunities for students to “help” him with his presentation.

Each program varied depending on the students that were present. He let the student’s creativity guide the program; therefore each program was special in its own way. His ability to communicate and interact with the kinder and first grade students was phenomenal! The Story Window program for the
primary grades kept the students involved in the program at all times and inspired them to go back to their classrooms to become better writers.
The game show format of the older students' program allowed the students to become part of the presentation. They were able to learn new facts about Texas while having a blast!

Teachers continue to come to me and tell me how much they enjoyed Mr. Espinosa’s show and how beneficial Mr. Espinosa’s program was to their children. Comments such as “he kept them focused and having fun at the same time” and “his control of such a large group of kinders was fabulous” have been pouring into my office since Mr. Espinosa left yesterday.

Another great thing about Mr. Espinosa was the fact that he carries, signs, and delivers his books the day he attends your school. Students who didn’t bring money until the day of the program were still able to receive their autographed books. I have had authors in the past that require minimum book sales or they did not have enough books available to be purchased the day of the appearance. Mr. Espinosa was prepared with many additional books that allowed extra purchases.

I was very impressed with the quality of his program, his organization, and his pleasant demeanor with the students and teachers. I will definitely be inviting Mr. Espinosa back to our campus next year!

"This program is the most diverse and best prepared of all the authors who have visited our school."
I seldom find a program which offers as much for our children as does Rocket Megabyte's Texas Adventure. Uncle Chris and Rocket do a really great job of drawing the interest of children of many different ages. Their website and classroom activities are unexpected pleasures rarely available before the visiting program and really do add to the "expectation factor." AR tests on two levels are available to accommodate two different ways of reading this book.

All in all, this program is the most diverse and best prepared of all the authors who have visited our school.

"Mr. Espinosa (Uncle Chris) has a wonderful way of relating to students of all ages, and his presentations are educational."
I had Chris Espinosa, author of Rocket Megabytes Texas Adventure, visit my elementary school on February 21, 2003. This was a great day for teachers, students, and parents. Mr. Espinosa has a wonderful way of relating to students of all ages, and his presentations are educational.

The following Monday students were stopping me in the hall to tell me:
“Your author was s-o-o-o funny.”
“I learned to write my own stories from that guy.”
“Can you have someone else like him come to our school?”

Students in all grade levels purchased the book and I have had rave reviews. The book is not only a great reference for Texas history, but also an entertaining way to quiz students on Texas facts.

Librarians, if you want to give your teachers and students a day of fun and education, contact Chris or Robert at robert@rocketvilletexas.com. I will guarantee a great day!

"The quality of the book is outstanding and very easy to understand."
My daughter was excited the very first day she heard about Uncle Chris and Rocket coming to visit her school to teach her about important facts and landmarks in Texas.

Immediately we went to the website and were excited to find out about Rocket and his adventures. She e-mailed Rocket to tell him how happy she was that he was coming to her school. Rocket e-mailed her back personally which made my daughter feel special knowing that she had made a new friend. She even drew her own picture of Big Bend to give to Rocket at the program.

At school, she had such an exciting time meeting Rocket and Uncle Chris. She got to see Rocket in person and Uncle Chris told the kids some new and exciting facts about Texas that day. Rocket has really made learning about Texas fun!

If all that wasn't enough, the book that she ordered was autographed by Rocket and Uncle Chris. This is something that she will treasure. The quality of the book is outstanding and very easy to understand. She is already looking forward to the next book!

I am very happy that she was this interested in learning. It is hard for her to focus, but the program made Texas history enjoyable for her.

As a parent, I found it very rewarding to spend time with her looking up things on the website and talking and reading about Rocket. Thank you for this program -- it is something that will not be forgotten by either of us for a long time!
