Flags can identify countries, groups or organizations. The symbols used to decorate have special meaning. Texas' flag, for example, has a single star to represent "The Lone Star State." The colors have the same meaning as the United States flag.

- Piece of paper, 81/2 x11
- Markers, crayons, or colored pencils (whichever you like)
- Most important...Your IMAGINATION
STEP 1
Choose your favorite colors. You can have as many colors as you want. It's your flag.
STEP 2
What do you want your flag to say about you? Pick three things that are your favorite. (Examples: pets, toys, foods, games, art, sports...what do you like to do?)
STEP3
Draw the border of the flag. Draw the three things from STEP 2.

Decide what colors you want for your three things from STEP 2.
